MAKRi attaches great importance to long-term and fair relationships with its suppliers. That's why MAKRi obtains its fine flavor cocoa from a Fairtrade-certified farmers' association in the Dominican Republic and pays them above-average market prices.

1. How is the chocolate packaged?

The chocolates are packed all in paper. 

2. Is there really no sugar in the chocolate?

MAKRi chocolate is only sweetened with the finely ground dates. This means that the chocolate gets its sweetness exclusively in a natural way. Refined and extracted sugar is not included.   

3. What does "May contain traces of milk" mean? Isn't the chocolate vegan?

All of our products are made with only vegetable ingredients. No milk is processed. However, the production facility is also used for other manufacturing processes. The machines are cleaned very carefully, but we cannot guarantee 100% that the machines are milk-free.   

4. Is the chocolate Fairtrade?

We source the fine cocoa from a Fairtrade certified farmers' association in the Dominican Republic. An official Fairtrade certification is still pending. We make date chocolate to offer people added value. Nobody should fall by the wayside. That is why social responsibility is important to us.

5. What is the best way to store MAKRi chocolate?

The chocolate should be stored in a cool place, protected from light. If you like it more firm to the bite, you can also store the chocolate in the refrigerator. However, do not store in the refrigerator with odorous foods, as this can affect the taste of the chocolate.
